That’s why the artist opted for an image of someone sitting at the windowsill in front of the window. The old man with a cup of coffee represents the pleasure of relaxing at home.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p> <p>Han Coussement discovered painting after he had been arrested for graffiti spraying. As he was looking for an activity which allowed him to express himself artistically without getting fined, he registered for painting classes. Hij liet zich inspireren door de vormen en kleuren van het huis en de voorgevel.</span></p> <p><span>Dit werk verschilt van alle andere werken in de straat doordat het niet in een toegemetst raamkozijn of ander kader is gemaakt.  De kunstenaar koos voor een beeld van iemand die aan de vensterbank voor het raam zou kunnen zitten. De oude man met een tas koffie representeert het plezier van een relax moment in huis.</span></p> <p><span>Han Coussement ontdekte het schilderen nadat hij was gearresteerd voor graffiti spuiten. Op zoek naar iets waar hij zijn artistieke ei in kwijt kon en dat niet steeds boetes opleverde, schreef hij zich in voor schilderles. His older brother, The Simpsons and the Kid Paddle comic series were his main sources of inspiration. His brother was the reason he began to draw graffiti letters. Later on, a friend showed him what you can do with a spray can. But drawing has always remained his passion. The magazine GraffBombz inspired him for his typographic work.</span></p> <p><span>A legal graffiti wall in Leuven offered him the opportunity to experiment with walls and large formats. Letters became winding 3D lines. Just before the final exam of his first year at the Academy, he decided to radically change his style. The jury told him he had to repeat the year ('bissen' in Flemish).
