paragraph--view-mode--full"> <p>Naast de bestaande cafetaria kwam er een klein oefenveld voor jeugdspelers bij. Het wordt gebruikt voor trainingen in de werkweek in de vooravond, op woensdagnamiddag en in het weekend overdag.</p><p>Het gebouw met de huidige kleedkamers kreeg een extra verdieping met kleedkamers. Het terrein werd groener ingericht.</p><h2>Mogelijkheden voor de buren</h2><p>De herinrichting van het terrein biedt ook mogelijkheden voor de buurt. Het plan voorziet een groenere inrichting met meer bomen en minder verharding. Daarnaast kunnen de bewoners van een groot aantal van de aanpalende huizen in de Dukkeldamstraat en de Manchesterstraat (na een vergunningsaanvraag) een poortje steken naar het terrein en via het terrein naar de Dukkeldamstraat of de New Orleansstraat kunnen doorsteken.</p><p>Bij de herinrichting wordt er ook gewerkt aan <a href="https://stad.gent/nl/muide-meulestede-morgen/deelprojecten-muide-meulestede-morgen/muide-meulestede-fossielvrij">duurzame energie</a>. Door geothermische boringen kan er energie uit de bodem gehaald worden om huizen te verwarmen, zónder aardgas. Stad Gent en partners onderzoeken de mogelijkheden en bekijken met de buren hoe zij kunnen meestappen in dit verhaal.</p> </div> " infopages.
