In het secundair onderwijs kost een kind gemiddeld tussen 1000 en 1400 euro per jaar en dat is geen haalbare kaart voor elke ouder. Dat betekent dat elke school geconfronteerd wordt met armoedeproblematiek. Een schoolteam dat kennis heeft over armoede, zich bewust is van de armoedeproblematiek op school, armoedesignalen kan herkennen en de welzijnsorganisaties in de buurt kent, maakt een groot verschil. </p> </div> <div class="paragraph paragraph--type--text paragraph--view-mode--full"> <h3><a class="ck-anchor" id="communicatie-met-ouders-"></a><strong>Communicatie met ouders </strong></h3><p>Respectvol en duidelijk communiceren met ouders is stap twee. Niet alle ouders zijn even (digitaal) geletterd. Dialoog met ouders helpt om af te toetsen of alle communicatie, ook die over kosten en betalingsmogelijkheden, helder is. Ook in de aanpak van onbetaalde schoolrekeningen, kan een goede communicatie een groot verschil maken voor ouders én kinderen. </p><h3><a class="ck-anchor" id="kostenbeheersing-en-kostenbeleid-op-school"></a><strong>Kostenbeheersing en kostenbeleid op school</strong></h3><p>Het kostenbeleid op school is idealiter een verhaal van alle leerkrachten, leerlingen en ouders. Kosten in kaart (laten) brengen en erover praten, werkt heel sensibiliserend.
