The Immigration Office prefers this option.</p> </div> <div class="paragraph paragraph--type--text paragraph--view-mode--full"> <h2>What are the requirements?<a class="ck-anchor" id="what-are-the-requirements"></a></h2><p><strong>Who can sign an annex 3bis?</strong><br>Any Belgian or non-Belgian who has sufficient financial means.<br><br>If you are a non-Belgian, you must also have unlimited residency rights. Note: You must print the annex double-sided.</p><ul><li>You can find the form at the bottom of <a href="https://dofi.ibz.be/en/themes/faq/short-stay/sufficient-means-subsistence/formal-obligation">this page</a> under 'Documents'. Download the form and type the details into the document.</li><li>Alternatively, request the form from Migration. This can also be done during your appointment for the legalisation of Annex 3bis.</li></ul><p><strong>Step 2</strong><br>Have your signature legalised.</p><ul><li>Make an <a href="https://gent.mijnafspraakmaken.be/?product=1467">appointment</a> with the Migration Office at the <a href="https://stad.gent/nl/openingsuren-adressen/dienst-burgerzaken-migratie">City Office</a> or in the service centres in <a href="https://stad.gent/nl/openingsuren-adressen/dienstencentrum-gentbrugge">Gentbrugge</a>, <a href="https://stad.gent/nl/openingsuren-adressen/dienstencentrum-sint-amandsberg">Sint-Amandsberg</a>, <a href="https://stad.gent/nl/openingsuren-adressen/dienstencentrum-nieuw-gent">Nieuw-Gent</a>, <a href="https://stad.gent/nl/openingsuren-adressen/dienstencentrum-wondelgem">Wondelgem</a>, or at the <a href="https://stad.gent/nl/openingsuren-adressen/wijkkantoor-rabot">Rabot district office</a>.</li><li>Or visit the City Office without an appointment. Choose ‘I don’t have an appointment - make an appointment’ at the ticket kiosk. A staff member will direct you to the correct counter. If this is not possible at that moment, they will book an appointment for you.</li></ul><p><strong>Step 3</strong><br>If the person for whom you have signed an Annex 3bis needs to apply for a <a href="https://dofi.ibz.be/en/themes/entry/border-control/visa/visa-type-c/list-third-countries-are-required-hold-visa">visa</a> at a Belgian diplomatic or consular post, you will receive the annex 3bis immediately.<br><br>If the person for whom you have signed an annex 3bis <a href="https://dofi.ibz.be/en/themes/entry/border-control/visa/visa-type-c/list-third-countries-whose-nationals-are-exempted">does not need a visa</a> or must apply for a visa at a <a href="https://diplomatie.belgium.be/en/travel-belgium/visa-belgium">diplomatic or consular post of another Schengen state</a>, we will forward the annex 3bis to the Immigration Office. They will assess whether the guarantee is approved. Once a decision has been made, we will invite you to collect the annex 3bis.
