Ce qui devait être un monument du triomphe, rehaussé d’une flèche majestueuse, s’est soldé par un toit plat, à une hauteur misérable de 46 mètres. L'une des œuvres les plus célèbres de la peinture flamande se trouve ici: Le Golgotha d'Anthony Van Dyck (1599-1641). Le peintre a réalisé cette œuvre en 1630 pour l'église Saint-Michel. Le tableau représente le Christ sur la croix, entouré de Marie, Jean, Marie-Madeleine et de quelques soldats.</p><p>Une œuvre d'art particulière se trouve dans la chapelle de la confrérie de Lorette. La sculpture en marbre de Marie avec l'enfant Jésus a été réalisée par Rombaut Pauwels (1625-1692). Aus Geldmangel wurde dieser ehrgeizige Plan jedoch nicht in die Tat umgesetzt. Wo der Entwurf einen triumphalen Turm mit einer majestätischen Spitze vorsah, gab es am Ende nur dürftige 46 Meter mit einem flachen Dach. Eines der berühmtesten Werke der flämischen Malerei ist hier zu finden: Golgatha von Anthony Van Dyck (1599-1641). Der Maler hat dieses Werk 1630 für die St. Michaelskirche gemalt. Das Gemälde zeigt Christus am Kreuz, flankiert von Maria, Johannes, Maria Magdalena und einigen Soldaten.</p><p>Ein besonderes Kunstwerk befindet sich in der Kapelle der Bruderschaft von Loreto. Die Marmorskulptur von Maria mit dem Jesuskind wurde von Rombaut Pauwels (1625-1692) geschaffen. É<span>én van de meest befaamde werken van de Vlaamse schilderkunst tref je hier aan: </span><em><span>Golgotha </span></em><span>van Anthony Van Dyck (1599-1641). De schilder schilderde dit werk in 1630 voor de Sint-Michielskerk. Het schilderij toont Christus aan het kruis, geflankeerd door Maria, Johannes, Maria Magdalena en enkele soldaten. </span></p><p><span>Een bijzonder kunstwerk bevindt zich in de kapel van de Broederschap van Loreto. Aquí se encuentra una de las obras más famosas de la pintura flamenca: El Gólgota de Anthony Van Dyck (1599-1641). El pintor pintó esta obra en 1630 para la iglesia de San Miguel. El cuadro muestra a Cristo en la cruz, flanqueado por María, Juan, María Magdalena y algunos soldados.</p><p>Una obra de arte especial se encuentra en la capilla de la Hermandad de Loreto. Un plan datant de 1662 prévoyait une tour haute de 134 mètres (à titre de comparaison : la tour de la <a href="/fr/voir-et-faire/la-cathedrale-saint-bavon" data-entity-type="node" data-entity-uuid="1e94fa5f-0f94-4fa9-a3dd-58d3d5b9d6ca" data-entity-substitution="canonical" title="La Cathédrale Saint-Bavon">Cathédrale Saint-Bavon</a> ne mesure que 89 mètres), mais le manque d’argent est venu contrecarrer ce plan ambitieux. L'une des œuvres les plus célèbres de la peinture flamande se trouve ici: Le Golgotha d'Anthony Van Dyck (1599-1641). Le peintre a réalisé cette œuvre en 1630 pour l'église Saint-Michel. Le tableau représente le Christ sur la croix, entouré de Marie, Jean, Marie-Madeleine et de quelques soldats.</p><p>Une œuvre d'art particulière se trouve dans la chapelle de la confrérie de Lorette. • 1944 articleBody "De spits van de Sint-Michielskerk had hoog boven alle andere moeten uitsteken, maar de geschiedenis heeft er anders over beslist: het geplande 134 meter hoge 'monument van de zegepraal' is op 46 meter blijven steken. <div class="paragraph paragraph--type--text paragraph--view-mode--full"> <div class="clearfix text-formatted field field--name-field-text field--type-text-long field--label-hidden field__item"><p><span lang="NL">De bouw van deze laatgotische kerk startte vermoedelijk in 1440, maar werd merkwaardig genoeg pas in 1825 afgerond. Een ontwerp uit 1662 plande een 134 meter hoge toren (ter vergelijking: die van de </span><a href="/nl/zien-doen/sint-baafskathedraal-majestueus-statig" data-entity-type="node" data-entity-uuid="1e94fa5f-0f94-4fa9-a3dd-58d3d5b9d6ca" data-entity-substitution="canonical" title="Sint-Baafskathedraal majestueus statig"><span lang="NL">St.-Baafskathedraal</span></a><span lang="NL"> meet slechts 89 meter), maar wegens geldgebrek werd dat ambitieuze plan nooit uitgevoerd. Wat een monument van de zegepraal met majestueuze spits had moeten worden, strandde op een schamele 46 meter en een plat dak. Op zich een gelukkige samenloop van omstandigheden, want later ontdekte men grote problemen met de grondstabiliteit van de kerk: een groter gewicht kon de locatie wellicht nooit dragen. </span></p><blockquote><p><em>Wist je dat: d<span lang="NL">e brouwersgilde, de voornaamste sponsor van deze kerk, aan de opstandelingen tijdens de Beeldenstormen gratis bier bood, in de hoop hen af te leiden van het vandalenwerk en zo het interieur van de kerk te redden.</span></em></p></blockquote></div> </div> <div class="paragraph paragraph--type--text paragraph--view-mode--full"> <div class="field field--name-field-heading field--type-heading field--label-hidden field__item"><h2>Verborgen kunstwerken</h2> </div> <div class="clearfix text-formatted field field--name-field-text field--type-text-long field--label-hidden field__item"><p>In de kerk bevinden zich talrijke schilderijen en beelden van bekende meesters. É<span>én van de meest befaamde werken van de Vlaamse schilderkunst tref je hier aan: </span><em><span>Golgotha </span></em><span>van Anthony Van Dyck (1599-1641). De schilder schilderde dit werk in 1630 voor de Sint-Michielskerk. Het schilderij toont Christus aan het kruis, geflankeerd door Maria, Johannes, Maria Magdalena en enkele soldaten. </span></p><p><span>Een bijzonder kunstwerk bevindt zich in de kapel van de Broederschap van Loreto. Het marmeren beeldhouwwerk van Maria met het kind Jezus werd vervaardigd door Rombaut Pauwels (1625-1692).
