Borremans used miniature scale figures to design his sculpture, making sure he would achieve the right composition. In the 18th century, the Achtervisserij and Visserijvaart waterways were connected by means of smaller canals on which several water mills were active. The mills produced a sound of tumbling water. The artist designed an interactive water organ to reproduce that sound from the past; it is located partly in the park and partly in Visserijvaart. When you step on certain stones in the park, sensors are activated that produce air bubbles, and burbling sounds can be heard in several places in the water.
